Retreat Terms and Conditions

The Spirit of NVC

Our ask of you

By booking on our retreat, we ask you to agree to come in the spirit of promoting respectful, active and empathic listening and open communication throughout the retreat.

Our intentions

We will hold a compassionate, non-judgmental space for you to decide the level of authentic and vulnerable sharing you feel comfortable with. We will do our best to balance group sharing time, daily needs for exercise, rest, free time to chat, reflect and have fun. If at any time during the retreat, you wish to stop sharing or take time out, you agree to do your best to let us know so that we can hold and support you and the group with care.

Mental health and well-being

If you have or think you are suffering from a medical or psychological condition, please consult your doctor or other appropriately qualified professional. This retreat and the facilitators are not a substitute for, nor are they offering, medical or psychiatric support or care.

If at any time you feel in distress, we ask that you let the facilitators know so that we can support you with your choices. If we decide that the level of individual support you need is beyond the scope of the facilitators, we reserve the right to ask you to leave.

Physical health

You agree to let us know in advance of the retreat if we need to take into account any mobility or other physical needs

Confidentiality

Everything that you share in the retreat is treated by the facilitators with the strictest confidence unless you or someone else is at immediate risk of harm or mandatory reporting laws apply. We will create a group agreement about confidentiality within the group on the first day.

Accommodation and meals

The retreat package includes all meals and refreshments from (and including) lunch on the first day to (and including) lunch on the last day. It also includes accommodation according to the room selection you have made when booking. There will be some shared setting up and clearing up tasks requested of participants before and after meals. We will do this in the spirit of willingness and collaboration.

Special dietary needs

If you have special dietary needs, you agree that you will discuss this with us at least 3 weeks before the retreat - and preferably have told us about this in your booking form. We cannot guarantee to cater for all diets, though we will do our best. We will be unlikely to be able to cater for any special dietary needs told to us within 3 weeks of, or during, the retreat as we will need advance notice to adjust our menu plans.

Photography and media consent

We would like to capture photos or videos during the retreat for promotional purposes. We will create a group agreement about this at the beginning of the retreat. If you have reasons not to be willing to accept this, we will respect your wishes.

Emergency procedures

In the event of an emergency, we will follow designated procedures and provide access to local medical facilities or emergency services if needed.

Confirmation of place

Before we confirm your place, we will arrange a short phone conversation with you to make a personal connection. If, for any reason, we decide that the retreat is not a fit for you, we will refund your money in full, including the deposit.
